A Year and 2 Months Later

Well, I've been kicking it at Fitness Bootcamp for quite a few months.  I've noticed that I've had inches dropping...I have especially seen this difference in the chest area.  I feel so much better than I did before I had surgery.  I have energy and can keep up with the kiddos!  ...heck I wear them out.

8 & 1/2 Month Update

Well, here I am 8 1/2 mos. later...
Ask me if I would do this again and I would answer YES!

I have loved the milestones I've hit on my journey to a healthier me...

Sitting with my legs crossed
Sitting indian style in my chair
Being able to receive an amazingly close hug from my husband
Having more energy
Not having my gut smashed into a table at a restaurant
Feeling full
Sitting comfortably in stadium settings
Shopping at Cato in the non-Plus size area
Shopping at all stores in the smaller area
Getting a new wedding ring b/c I went from a 9 to a 7
Being able to keep up with my kids
Being able to walk in the mall for as long as I want...not as long as my body wants me too
Being able to stay awake on long trips
Bending over and tying my shoes without grunting

I can say that I am glaring at my goal weight...45 more lbs and I'll be at the weight I was in high school.
Right now, I'm glaring at the scale and can see 205!  That means I've lost a total of 130 lbs!  Now I've still got my ghetto booty but I can really tell a difference when I pull out my pictures!  ...not to mention when I step in my clothes.  I can wear a 16 in jeans and a medium shirt! I still am very conscientious of my arms but who isn't!?

A few months ago I posted a picture of me in a pair of pants I was wearing pre-op, only this time, I was fitting into one leg.  I'll post it tonight, as well as pre-op and post-op photos!  Afterall, a picture is worth 1,000 words!

I am now down 122lbs!  I've surely lost an Olsen twin!  :)

Here is a before and an after!  December 2010 to September 2011

A lovely Saturday

It has been too long since I've updated everyone!   So, here I am!  I weighed last Sunday and have officially lost 108 lbs!  I am able to wear 16-18 jeans/pants and Large or 12-14 shirts.  I bought a yard-sale at a flea market that was a size 12 and can wear it!  My new favorite thing to wear are dresses with tights.  I can REALLY tell a difference.   ...and people are wondering who this new person is at work.  Oh, it's JANA!

I will post a new blog of pictures next.

Appointment

Yesterday I had one of my followup appointments.   I was sitting indian style (is this appropriate?) on the little bed when the nurse came in.  She said "look at you!, sitting there with your legs crossed"...

Basically, it was a really quick appointment bc everything is going great! I didn't have any questions and she reiterated that I keep taking my supplements and vitamins and drinking my water.

I was probably in the office a total of 20 minutes.  ...That includes check in and getting my next appointment in 2 months.

Let's bottle up my energy and SELL IT!

It's amazing how much energy I have!!!!  ((((RUNS AROUND SCREAMING WOOHOO!))))

Last night was a pretty uneventful day, however, the family and I accomplished quite a lot.
We went for a walk.  The boys ended up going home at the 2.30 mile mark, but the husband and I ended up going until 3.30!  I'm so excited for us. We went up "that hill" by our neighborhood and it gets easier each time.
After our walk, or maybe it was before our walk (my memory appears to be slipping) we watched Gnomeo and Juliet with the boys.  It was a cute little movie.  The wonderful husband ended up making Tilapia and White rice for supper.  I didn't have to cook!  We also got more laundry done AND hung up!  I'm the world's worst at letting the clothes sit in the laundry baskets at the end of the bed!  However, I now have a huge pile of clothes on the bed in the other room which is now considered the "YARD SALE PILE".  Yes, Jana is FINALLY going to have a yardsale on the 24th!  I've already enlisted the husband!  ...maybe this is the source of my energy to get the clothes put away, as most of the clothes in the pile came from those baskets...hmmm :)

What I ate Monday
EAS Carb Control Shake
1/2 Pure Protein PB and Chocolate Bar
2.8 oz Chunk Light Tuna
3 oz Tilapia and 1/4 cup of White Rice

Update

My last weigh in on Friday had me losing 92 lbs! This has been the best journey! The husband and I have been going and walking about 3 miles everyday! I have already bought a bicycle but we are waiting for a specific one to be carried before buying my husband's. We have been dragging the kiddos along too. When I decided to have this surgery I never imagined feeling this good!

Memorial Weekend

Had a nice long getaway to the inlaws after work on Saturday! Did well on my eating... Today I realized that I should stick to skim milk only!

I ate:
Mini wheats with fruit and 2% milk
Lemonade slush (I never did finish all of it)
1/2 beefy melt and a few bites of fiesta potatoes
4 chicken nuggets

It's been a long time!

It's been too long since I've updated everyone!  I'm sorry!  I am still doing great!  I haven't had any trouble and everything thus far has been smooth sailing.  I haven't weighed in over a week so this could be off but I'm 83 lbs down!  I am not able to wear my pants that I was so excited about in my last few posts because it looks like I have a load in my pants.  :)  Looks like I'll be posting on Ebay again :).
This week my Great Aunt and Great Uncle came and visited.  We had such a wonderful visit.  I can't wait for them to come again.  We went to the cemetery and put out new flowers for my Great Grandparents (G. Aunt's Mom and Dad), their son, and my Grandmother (G.Aunt's Sister).  It looked really nice.  I'm still thinking that buying the stone for Grandma was a really good thing that Larry and I were able to do.  Every time I look at it I smile.  She would have loved it.  I miss her everyday.  I wish they could have spent a whole week!
Yesterday, Larry and I went flea-marketing with my aunt and she found a few things.  She found these bubble lights and you would have thought she had a heart-attack.  It made me smile seeing how happy she was!  They are huge antique fans and have shows and collect.  They used to own an antique store.  I enjoy going with them on their hunts because it's impossible to come away excited.  :)
For supper we ate at Red Goose Deli downtown.  They ordered the special (2 porkchops, fried okra, baked potato, sister schubert roll, & salad with wine and cheese dressing).  The waitress asked if they were going to share and they order 2 specials.  It was SOOOO much food.  There was definitely leftovers.
Yesterday I ate:
1 egg, 2 strips bacon
About a 1/2 of an order of shack fries (bbq meat, cheese sauce and fries)
1/2 Grilled Cheese sandwich (no crust) some fries and the top part of a pickle spear
2 Oreo Cookies

Generally, I keep away from the fries because they are SO heavy.  It'll be a while before I have em' again.

I'm still taking my vitamins and being a good girl in that respect.  I've gotten more active too.

My son has been in baseball so we've been enjoying his games.  He's also gotten a B-Ball goal so it's been fun shooting hoops with him.

I will do better about keeping this up!

Ebay is my friend this afternoon!

I passed on clothes to my Aunt last Thursday, I blogged about it I believe.  Well, today I dug for more and found some things to post on Ebay.  This is my first venture selling on Ebay so I hope I've done it correctly, if there is a correct!

I think I've come to the point where I can actually write down what size I was wearing and what starting weight I was just because I know I'm not going back there.

It's hard to explain, but I guess having been a big girl for my adult life it is kinda' rocky when it comes to getting rid of the fat pants.  I've been down the road of having lost weight and getting into the smaller clothes only to have to retreat back into those fat pants again.

It's similar to the feelings I had when I finally decided I'd never be my ideal weight again and let my smaller pants and clothes go.

Anyway,
This morning I weighed on the scale and now I am down 59 lbs.  I am no longer wearing my size 26-28 jeans with my 26/28 & 22/24 shirts.  I can wear size 20 jeans, and wear 18/20 shirts.  My starting weight was 330 and I'm staring down at 271 when I step on the scale.

Now, the absolute best thing about this:  I am doing things now alot more and getting less tired!  I actually played outside with my son and ENJOYED it.  It's also nice to be congratulated and complimented on my weight loss, it makes me smile.  When I was at the point I had decided to have WLS I was so self conscience and my self esteem was definetly low.  I could never have gotten this far without my loving family and friends.

So far today I've eaten:
1 Scrambled Egg, A couple of bites of sausage...

Now, I'm off to the kitchen to decide what I want for lunch.

Thanks for reading!!

Monday all over again

Good evening all! ...or morning...or afternoon...depending on when you are reading this.

Today I ate:
1 Sugar Free Temptation Pudding Cup
1/2 Orange
2 oz Tuna
Spaghetti noodles with beef and tomato sauce

Shake Shake Shake Shake Shake Shake Shake Your Beauty!

I've seriously been neglecting my bloggity blog.  Here I am though!  I am still alive and kicking it!

Today I ate:
Taco Meat w/ shredded lettuce, diced tomato, and sprinkle of cheese
Turkey Pepperoni Pizza on Wheat Tortilla
Peach Tea flavored Water

I don't recall having eaten anything for Breakfast.  How bad of me!

Didn't get any walking in today.  Argh!
I did however get a new to me pair of jeans courtesy of ebay! ...and they are a smaller size and they fit!

Last week I said GOODBYE forever to the clothes that held me at my highest.  What a glorious feeling!
It's amazing the amount of energy you have when you shed some poundage.  I feel like I'm kinda in a rut as far as losing goes. I don't see the big number jumps I was having...BUT I haven't walked like I should.  It's been too cold, or the fitness trainer is in the gym and I don't want to walk with him in there, or I don't feel like driving back to work to workout, or it's too dark outside...too many excuses for this girl!
I need to remind myself HOW I got as big as I was...(taking a moment to reflect).

How do you guys keep yourself encouraged on walking or exercising?  How do you shove past the excuses and just do it?

Oh yeah! I almost forgot!  The whole reason I named the blog the way I did...
I have the most awesome husband ever!  He bought me a single serving blender.  It came with 4 large glasses and 1 small one.  I have tried a few different shakes and LOVE it!  This past week I made my kiddos a shake and they both thought that it was as good as Andy's Frozen Custard!

I'll share the one's I've concocted so far:

Fat Free 1/2 and 1/2
Tbsp of Sugar Free Banana Pudding
1 Scoop of Chocolate Protein Powder
Strawberries
Ice

Fat Free 1/2 and 1/2
Crystal Light Peach Tea
1 Scoop of Banana Protein Powder
A bit of Banana
Ice

Fat Free 1/2 and 1/2
1 Scoop of Chocolate Protein Powder
1 Spoon of Peanut Butter Powder
Ice

Do you guys have any favorite shakes?!  Share with me!!

Food for Thought

I was super excited this morning to be able to wear a pair of jeans that I wore when I first started dating my husband.  How liberating!  Last week when I weighed I was down 52lbs.  I haven't yet weighed for this week...and it's almost over.
I do know that I need to get my butt outside and WALK more.  It has been such beautiful weather!

I Have been SO over chewable vitamins and while I was at Walgreen's I ended up buying some Sour Gummy Vitamins.  ...they don't taste sour at all to me, but the others that have tried them say that they are sour.  They say that your tastes can change...but seriously, sour going to sweet would not be what I imagine "they" meant by that.  :)

I have had an outrageous amount of phlegm for the last week or more.  I called my Dr's office that performed the Gastric and asked them what would be best for me to take...they suggested liquid Mucinex or anything without nsaids or that was aspirin based.  I ended up going to Walgreen's (same trip as the sgv) and grabbed me some children's liquid Mucinex.  I can take 4-12 doses of it.  It feels so warm going down and then my tummy feels really funky for a few minutes. (Same way the liquid Hydrocodone did) It sure does the trick though.  I have been getting rid of this mucus for reallllllz!!!

Yesterday I ate:
About 3 spoons of Carbmasters Yogurt
Small BBQ Salad (less than half of a half salad from BBQ Shack)
Few bites of steak (from my hubby's plate) and small portion of Loaded Mashed Potatoes

You know, I have to also share that I have always wore my hair down...I guess I thought my hair hid my chunky face so it was my security blanket.  I have now worn my hair in a ponytail more times in the last few months than I have worn it in a ponytail in the last few years.  I'm kinda' excited about it too...because we own a convertible Mustang and my Escape has a moon/sun roof! ...that means that I will be willing to open the tops up!

My son had his first Baseball practice yesterday.  It was the kind of day where you step outside, you look up with your hands out and your eyes closed...breathe in deep and thank GOD you are alive!
He had a great practice and I'm looking forward to coming practices and games.  I'm so proud of my kid!
